If you should ever write such a monograph please post a link to it on theses pages. It would be interesting to see Holmes` demons examined in comparison to Watson`s, "weaknesses of character".
Currently Reading: "Eighteen Years in the Khyber 1879 - 1898" by Col. Sir Robert Warburton. No sign of incipient madness thus far, nor any mention of Violet De Merville`s father.
Previously Reading: "The Dervish of Windsor Castle", which is a biography of Arminius Vambery. In the hope that it may shed light on the unpublished case of "Vambery (sic) AND the Wine Merchant" (MUSG)
Favorite Holmes:
Clive Merrison. If you have not heard these versions, dramatised for radio by Bert Coule for the BBC, then seek them out. I cannot reccomend them highly enough ! ! !
Favourite Watson = Ian Hart in my favourite version of "HOUN" which featured Richard E. Grant as Stapleton. (Hart reprised his role in the not-so-good, "Case of the Silk Stocking".)
