Let's see if I can recall this one from memory, "I never theorize in advance of the facts. It is destructive to the logical faculty." There is some margin for interpreting Sherlock Holmes a bit differently, given an actor's level of talent and taste…
There is nothing mysterious about it whatsoever. The Baker Street Irregulars have relatively few invested members that are under the age of 50. This is true to a large extent in the scion societies because, as is often the case, retirees have more t…
At this point, it looks like the Guy Ritchie film will distort Sherlock Holmes in somewhat the same way that the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan movies distorted Edgar Rice Burroughs' Lord of the Jungle. Although Robert Downey, Jr. is an exceptional actor…
Ben Wood was such a nice man and a credit to the Sherlockian community. One of the facts about the Sherlockian world is that so many of its most knowledgeable and accomplished people are a generation or more older than many of us. Over the years, I'…
I have not checked out this site in over a year and the day I do, you posted a comment. Very strange. Sherlockians must have some kind of strange rapport. To answer your question, the folks over at Holmesian are experiencing some technical difficulties and the mods are currently working on it. We have been communicating via the Facebook group Holmesian.net. If you are on Facebook, search for the group and join it and you'll be able to communicate with most of the core members (we have 44 right now). Over the last few years we have gone there whenever the site has gone down to share updates, etc. I don't know if the link works or not but here it is. http://www.facebook.com/groups.php?id=530535362#/group.php?gid=5424420418

About Me:
It's hard to think of a time in my life when I was not aware of Sherlock Holmes. He entered my life by the time I was about five or six, and remains very welcome. Reading THE REDHEADED LEAGUE at age eight sealed the bargain. At this point in my life, Holmes and Watson seem more like old friends than literary figures, or should I say, "historical individuals?"
Favorite Books:
The list keeps changing
Favorite Holmes:
In no order of preference: Peter Cushing, Basil Rathbone, John Wood, Jeremy Brett, & Carlton Hobbs
