Jeremy Brett is a storehouse of talent. This is further justified by the fact that He had acted as Watson also!!
I am happy that ppl hv commented here :)

Well, Jeremy Brett was certainly a "big gun" in the world of Sherlock and he did contribute much to the spread of the Canon; but I think the "Spell-check" fairy wasn't watching over me when I typed my last comment. I deserve a great big DUH! Sorry!!!
As long as I am commenting again, I want to say what I have said before (and will continue to say) about the Granada television series. Every time that it is presented on PBS, Biography Channel, or whatever, new faces come to Sherlock Holmes - new people begin to love the stories. I am extremely happy to see that the Georgia PBS channel is now showing this series again.

This Group is a grand way to show our admiration of Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes.
Scott, you mentioned on your blog the great friendship the Cannon shows between out guys, Holmes and Watson. The Granada series surely shows this. Thanks to JB this series was so close to the original ACD stories.
Jeremy Brett surprised me when I first saw his Sherlock Holmes on TV. I didn't know who he was; but he was the SH I had always imagined

I'm a profoun d admirer of Mr. Brett and much of what I do with the MysteryVisits portrayals reflects his influence -- although we've taken the liberty of choosing what we liked and avoiding what we didn't! Without his popularity, though, we never would have been able to explore the same ground, professionally or otherwise. We owe him -- and people such as John Hawkesworth, Jeremy Paul, David Burke and Edward Hardwicke, among many others -- a huge debt!

I actually did a series on the Baker Street Blog last summer featuring such creativity. A young woman in Poland edited together popular songs and clips from the Granada series.

Once you click on the above link, just scroll down to the May 2007 entires to see the first.

Thanks for letting me join. I am a fan of Jeremy Brett and all the
others who play in the episodes but still a Basil Rathbone -Nigel
Bruce fan. They are who I grew up with and I've seen some great
Sherlock Holmes since. Christopher Plummer and James Mason
were amazing together. What I feel is Jeremy & Co. captured the
closer story and Jeremy Brett himself had so much more resources
than Basil Rathbone did in his day. Of course Jeremy is so awesomely
talented in this role that it's almost like he wasn't acting......
