The Sherlock Holmes Social Network

News & updates on the world of Sherlock Holmes, by Sherlockians for Sherlockians

I was wondering what scion societies some of you might belong to? I lived in Chicago for many years and still maintain my membership with The Torists and The Criterion Bar Association.

Personally I am the gasogene for the White Rose Irregulars [http:www.whiteroseirregularsorg], Sherlock Holmes Society of London, Watson's Tin Box, Hounds of the Internet, Welcome Holmes [Yahoo group], Mycroft's League, and of coarse the Baker Street Builders. I try and attend as many meetings as possible, but life and work sometimes get in the way. My Sherlockian pursuits have added a quality to my life that is unparalleled by anything else I do. The people are all so nice and generous at heart and FUNNY! Most are incredibly talented and intelligent and that in iself is worth the time and effort besides, who better to curl up with then a book about the master?

Currently, I don't belong to any scion society, as there is none in my city. I used to belong to The Younger Stamfords in Iowa City and to Pondicherry Lodge in Springfield, IL. They were two very different groups, and I enjoyed both of them. The Younger Stamfords met twice a year for a banquet-type meeting. Pondicherry Lodge met nine times a year, including one picnic and two dinner meetings. The other six meetings were standard meetings at a bookstore.
